Garfield Historic Districts

Just to the east of downtown is the Garfield neighborhood, home to two of the largest historic districts in the city (Garfield and North Garfield). This area is undergoing a tremendous revitalization as evidenced by the rehabilitation of homes built between the 1890’s and 1930’s, as well as contemporary condo projects. Garfield Historic District boundaries are roughly Roosevelt to Van Buren, 7th Street to 16th Street. The neighborhood is within walking distance to Roosevelt row and first Friday happenings, Chase Field, the science and children’s museums and everything else downtown. Homes range from modest bungalows averaging 800 square feet to period revival homes closer to 1800 square feet – some of them built as early as 1883!  Garfield is an attractive choice for faculty, researchers and students from the nearby educational facilities of Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.  call 480-229-8483
